A delicious fusion of two comfort food classics: a cheesy grilled sandwich wrapped around all the bold, savory fillings of a burrito.
🛒 Ingredients
- 2 large flour tortillas
- 4 tbsp butter, softened
- 4 slices of cheese (e.g. cheddar, mozzarella, or American)
- ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or blend)
- ½ cup cooked protein (chicken, ground beef, beans – optional)
- 2 tbsp sour cream (optional)
- 2 tbsp salsa (optional)
- Pinch of garlic powder (optional)
- Pinch of onion powder (optional)
🍳 Instructions
1. Prep Ingredients
- Heat up any cooked proteins you’re using.
- Spread butter on one side of each tortilla (this will be the outer side when grilling).
2. Assemble Burritos
- On the non-buttered side, layer:
- 2 cheese slices
- Sprinkle of shredded cheese
- A spoonful of cooked protein (if using)
- Optional: 1 tbsp each sour cream and salsa
- Sprinkle of garlic/onion powder (optional)
3. Roll
- Fold in the sides, then roll tightly into a burrito shape.
4. Grill
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Place burrito buttered side down and grill 3–4 minutes per side, pressing lightly with a spatula, until golden brown and crispy.
5. Serve
- Slice in half and enjoy hot.
- Serve with extra salsa, sour cream, or guacamole on the side.
