Delicious Chicken Philly Cheese Steak Recipe

Craving something different for dinner? This Chicken Philly Cheese Steak recipe is a fun twist on the classic and perfect for using up that chicken breast you have. It’s easy to make and packed with flavor!

Ingredients:

  • Chicken Breast (boneless, skinless, thinly sliced; chicken thighs work too)
  • White Hoagie Rolls (or any bread you like, such as wheat or low-carb wraps)
  • Mayo (or any sauce you prefer)
  • Garlic (minced)
  • Onions (sliced)
  • Bell Peppers (sliced, any color)
  • Provolone Cheese (or your favorite melty cheese)
  • Butter (for toasting and cooking)
  • Avocado Oil (optional, for cooking)
  • Worcestershire Sauce (for added flavor)
  • Seasoning (like all-purpose seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne for a little heat)

Instructions:

1. Prep the Vegetables:

  • Slice your bell peppers and onions evenly. This helps them cook at the same rate.
  • Feel free to mix up the veggies—add mushrooms or skip the peppers if you prefer.

2. Prepare the Chicken:

  • Tip: Freeze the chicken for about 30 minutes to make slicing easier.
  • Slice the chicken breast into thin, bite-sized pieces using a sharp knife.
  • Season the chicken with your favorite seasonings, like all-purpose seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of cayenne for a bit of spice.

3. Toast the Bread:

  • Slice your hoagie rolls, but don’t cut all the way through—create a pocket.
  • Melt butter in a skillet and toast the rolls until golden brown. Press down a little for an even toast.
  • Once toasted, set the rolls aside.

4. Cook the Veggies:

  • In the same skillet, add more butter and a little avocado oil if you like.
  • Toss in the sliced bell peppers, onions, and minced garlic. Season with salt, pepper, and some all-purpose seasoning.
  • Cook for about 4-5 minutes until the veggies soften. For more spice, add jalapenos or red pepper flakes.

5. Cook the Chicken:

  • Turn the heat to medium-high and cook the chicken in batches to avoid steaming.
  • Brown the chicken on both sides for a crispy texture.
  • Once the chicken is cooked, return it to the skillet with the veggies.
  • Stir in Worcestershire sauce and cook for a couple of minutes to let the flavors blend.

6. Add the Cheese:

  • Sprinkle a generous amount of provolone cheese over the chicken and veggie mixture.
  • Let the cheese melt until it’s gooey and bubbly.

7. Assemble the Sandwich:

  • Spread mayo (or your favorite sauce) on the inside of the toasted rolls.
  • Pile the cheesy chicken-veggie mixture into the rolls.

8. Final Touch:

  • For a fresh pop of color, sprinkle some chopped parsley over the top.

Enjoy Your Chicken Philly Cheese Steak!
