Balsamic Chicken Recipe

Serves: 4 | Prep Time: 10 minutes | Cook Time: 25 minutes

🛒 Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for sweetness)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved (optional)
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

1. Prep the Chicken

  • Pat the chicken dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.

2. Sear the Chicken

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Sear chicken for 5–6 minutes per side, until golden brown but not fully cooked. Remove from pan and set aside.

3. Make the Balsamic Sauce

  • Lower heat to medium. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add balsamic vinegar, honey, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 1–2 minutes.

4. Finish Cooking

  • Return chicken to skillet and spoon sauce over it.
  • Add cherry tomatoes if using.
  • Cover and cook for 8–10 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

5. Serve

  • Let chicken rest briefly. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley.
  • Serve with rice, pasta, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.

💡 Optional Add-Ons & Tips:

  • Marinate chicken in the balsamic mixture for 1–2 hours before cooking for more flavor.
  • Caprese twist: Top with fresh mozzarella slices during the last few minutes of cooking.
  • Use thighs if you prefer juicier cuts—just adjust the cooking time slightly.
